Overview
Predator Software develops specialist software for manufacturers, supporting industrial networking, databases, and revision control worldwide. We are growing our small team in the UK and Europe and this role presents a wonderful opportunity to work directly with the company owners and be a key part of a small business.
Location
UK – Hybrid role. The role may be home-based or office-based depending on individual circumstances.
A suitable home working environment (including a separate workspace) is required for home-based working.
An office is available in Spalding, Lincolnshire for employees who prefer not to work from home or whose home environment is not suitable.
There will be frequent travel across the UK and Europe with occasional travel outside of Europe.
Role Purpose
The Software Support & Installation Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing support of Predator Software’s solutions for manufacturing customers. The role combines desk-based technical support with regular on-site work across the UK, Europe, and occasionally worldwide.

We’re looking for someone who is honest, practical, and genuinely enjoys working with customers and travelling to different sites.
You will be flexible in your approach, focused on achieving great customer outcomes, and motivated by solving real-world problems. This means you’ll have strong problem-solving skills and be able to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues to understand requirements. Equally, you’ll be comfortable explaining what you need from others to deliver successful outcomes.
You should be professional in your work, while not taking yourself too seriously — able to build positive working relationships and represent Predator Software in a personable, down-to-earth way.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure on‑premise and virtualised software solutions (including Azure and other VMs)
- Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line technical support to customers and IT teams
- Support SQL databases, Windows environments, hardware, and industrial networks
- Deliver on‑site installations, upgrades, and training
- Travel frequently within the UK and Europe, with occasional worldwide travel
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Windows OS, SQL, cloud/virtualised environments
- Scripting (VBA, LUA or similar)
- Customer‑facing technical experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight
- Manufacturing or industrial software experience
- CNC Control Experience
- Industrial networking knowledge, including RS232
- Revision/version control exposure

Working Hours
- Core hours 10:00–15:00 Monday to Friday
- 40hrs per week, flexible start and end times outside of core hours
- Flexibility required for travel and customer work
Salary
£25,000 – £50,000 depending on experience and capability.
For exceptional candidates, with significant and very relevant experience we are open to discussing salaries outside of this range.

25 days plus bank holidays, rising to 30 days with service.
